Well, my excuse was that I was tired and I'd just been at my LinkedIn account. But still, no good excuse for … clicking on an email link. Got two notices from somebody at "LinkedIn" with a link to the notification. And I even though I should have realized that the fact I hadn't seen the notice while in LinkedIn itself just moments before, and without looking at the full email address, I clicked and got a "page not found" with a url that looked like a spam site. Sooo, turned off computer, turned back on, and hopefully it was nothing more than trying to get me to view whatever they were huckstering.
Man, you think you're a pro and then you go ahead and do a rookie error like that. How embarrassing. So, a warning to all you good ChuckleADuck fans. Don't go clicking any unfamiliar links. Not never!

Once a year this happens to me. I’m so tired, or just not paying attention and click a link that I almost know is malicious. My firewall and browser plugins have saved me a lot of headaches.
What’s worse is that, as always, there was a teeny, tiny, quiet voice in my head saying “this isn’t right” and I ignored it. That quiet voice has NEVER been wrong but it’s soooo quiet that, all too often, I don’t pay attention.
I read all email as plain text so the links aren’t clickable. And yes, always listen to the voice.
