I was musing on The Ascent of Man graphic and why it has the word 'ascent' while Darwin's book used the word 'descent'. Which got me thinking about the different meaning between the two words. Which led, eventually, to today's toon. I'll have to do one for the guys as well.

Of course, for men there’s the ascent of the belt line, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it before.
Yeah, I kinda picture the male variation with him starting out with some nice pectorals that slowly start to wander southwards. All the while adding mass.
But this definitely needs a follow up! Not only because I’m a man who believes in equality, but also because the joke is only half as hilarious if it can’t be done for both genders.
